Fountain of Life Uganda (FOLU) is a women-led, community-based organization founded in December 2012 to address the challenges faced by indigenous women and girls in Otuke District, Uganda. Historically, women and girls in this region have been denied rights, particularly in decision-making, land ownership, education, and protection from gender-based violence.
Under the leadership of Ms. Molly Bella Akello, FOLU has partnered with organizations like UNDP, World Bank, and FIMI to secure funding for poverty reduction, women's land rights, and protection from gender-based violence.
A peaceful, equal, and prosperous society where individuals, regardless of gender, race, age, or disability, are respected and empowered.
FOLU works collaboratively with both women and men to create systemic change, ensuring that marginalized communities can recognize and address their needs for a better future.
FOLU promotes sustainable agriculture and water conservation by training women and child mothers in kitchen gardening, organic farming...
To build climate resilience, FOLU works with local farmers to promote climate-smart agriculture, soil conservation, and sustainable land use practices.
FOLU is at the forefront of human rights advocacy, working to end gender-based violence, promote legal literacy, and ensure women’s land and property rights.
