Fountain of Life Uganda (FOLU) is dedicated to promoting human rights, social justice, and gender equality in Otuke District by advocating for the protection and empowerment of vulnerable groups, particularly women, girls, orphans, and marginalized communities. The organization addresses gender-based violence (GBV), land rights violations, access to justice, and child protection through legal support, awareness campaigns, and community-based interventions.
One of FOLU’s primary human rights interventions is combating gender-based violence (GBV), which remains a major challenge in the region. The organization conducts sensitization campaigns, community dialogues, and legal aid sessions to educate people about the dangers of domestic violence, child marriage, defilement, and sexual harassment.
FOLU collaborates with traditional leaders, religious institutions, and law enforcement agencies to strengthen reporting and response mechanisms for GBV survivors. Additionally, the organization provides psychosocial support, counseling, and safe spaces for survivors, ensuring that they receive the necessary care and protection
Fountain of Life Uganda is a women-led indigenous/community-based organization that was formed in December, 2012 as a response strategy to address the challenges faced by women and girls in the community at a grass root level.
