Fountain of Life Uganda (FOLU) is committed to improving access to quality education for children, particularly orphans, vulnerable children, girls, and children with disabilities in Otuke District. The organization recognizes education as a fundamental human right and a powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty, preventing child marriage, and empowering marginalized communities. FOLU’s education interventions focus on school enrollment, retention, teacher training, child protection, and vocational skills development.
One of FOLU’s key priorities is promoting girl-child education in a region where many girls drop out due to early marriages, teenage pregnancies, poverty, and cultural biases favoring boys’ education. The organization advocates for equal access to education, provides scholarships, school supplies, and sanitary materials to help girls stay in school, and engages communities in discussions about the importance of educating girls. Through mentorship programs and school outreach activities, FOLU empowers girls to pursue their dreams and challenge societal norms that limit their educational opportunities
Fountain of Life Uganda is a women-led indigenous/community-based organization that was formed in December, 2012 as a response strategy to address the challenges faced by women and girls in the community at a grass root level.
